Typically, they keep themselves updated with reports from the Weather Bureau and then they blanket an area since they know insurance companies will allow <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facilitiesnet.com\/roofing\/article\/Evaluating-Roof-Damage-After-a-Storm-Facilities-Management-Roofing-Feature--11976\">roofing repairs after a severe storm or typhoon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>What damage do they do?<\/h4>\n<p>Most storm chasers know how insurance companies will price your roof if you were to schedule a repair, by the square footage. They charge you, but they only do the minimum requirements to fix the issue. They do not make the effort to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kravelv.com\/conduct-roof-restoration-service-give-different-look-home\/\" class=\"wpil_internal_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">restore your roof<\/a> to its original condition. As a result, you have a roof that is poorly constructed \u2013 and a problem with your insurance company.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3729 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kravelv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Roof-Repair-Alert-The-Storm-Chasers1.jpg\" alt=\"Roof Repair Alert The Storm Chasers1\" width=\"400\" height=\"325\"><\/p>\n<h4>How do you spot one?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>They are usually not local contractors. Most storm chasers are from out of state, and they will not have the necessary credentials required by your locality to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kravelv.com\/5-things-to-consider-when-choosing-a-tv-service-provider-for-your-home\/\" class=\"wpil_internal_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">provide roofing services.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>They offer their services at discounted prices. Their services will also be cheaper than the services of other contractors. Be especially wary of roofers who say they need a significant portion of the payment to buy supplies. In some states like Virginia, contractors must be licensed; in other states, they must be registered. Getting a license, in most cases, involves having liability and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kravelv.com\/what-does-landlord-insurance-policy-cover\/\" class=\"wpil_internal_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">workman\u2019s insurance policies<\/a> \u2013 as well as posting a bond. We recommend looking into the credentials of any roofer offering his or her services.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Check the office.<\/u><\/strong> Another helpful thing to do when a roofer comes knocking at your door is to ask to see their office. A physical office is a sign that the roofer is, at least, established in your area. If there is only&nbsp; a post office box, don\u2019t even consider hiring them.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Consult references.<\/u><\/strong> A previous list of satisfied clients is also important to determining the quality of work you can expect from the contractor.
