What is this, The Shawshank Redemption?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A touch overdramatic, perhaps, but when the sun is shining on a long summer day, the last thing you\u2019re probably thinking about is getting around to that roof work you\u2019ve been putting off. Even so, summer is actually a really good time to get the ladder out and go investigate what\u2019s going on atop your house. In fact, there are several reasons why it\u2019s the best time to carry out a roofing job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kravelv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/worker-installing-metal-roof.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kravelv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/worker-installing-metal-roof.jpg\" alt=\"worker installing metal roof\" class=\"wp-image-17003\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Better weather<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Other than it being decidedly miserable to do so, working in the rain or more unpredictable weather is not a good foundation for the quality of your work. Rain can adversely affect the quality of roof installations, threatening water damage, flooding, poor adherence of materials and even voiding your warranty if you have work carried out while it\u2019s wet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Safety first<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The other obvious threat from wet weather is <a href=\"https:\/\/rospaworkplacesafety.com\/2014\/10\/14\/wet-weather-safety\">safety hazards<\/a>. We all know the slippery dangers of wet leaves on the ground, so add them to your roof and you\u2019ve got a recipe for disaster. Summertime means a lower chance of rain that can increase the risk of slips and falls, and also a reduced chance of windy conditions that can be a nightmare when you have moving parts involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Happy materials<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your key materials will be much happier in warm, dry conditions. Wet weather can damage roof decking, while applying new roofing to wet barriers or wood is actually against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/approved-documents\">building regulations<\/a>. Particularly if there\u2019s high humidity, materials like asphalt shingles will not stick to slick surfaces well. All this can lead to you having to extend and redo work, as well as potentially end up with a less-than-satisfactory end product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visible results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Summer days mean you can work for longer and in clearer conditions, so you can see the results of your work easier and make adjustments where necessary. Better visibility is good for safety too, as you should never really be doing any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kravelv.com\/dont-lose-out-on-the-benefits-of-minor-roof-work\/\" class=\"wpil_internal_link\" >work on your roof<\/a> once the sun\u2019s gone down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Help is just around the corner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re not an expert roofer, which, let\u2019s face it, most of us aren\u2019t, you\u2019ll need to get some help in. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kravelv.com\/signs-that-you-must-contract-a-professional-roofer\/\" class=\"wpil_internal_link\" >Professional roofers<\/a> are usually less busy in spring and summertime, meaning they\u2019ll have better availability. It\u2019s still something you\u2019ll probably have to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.118118money.com\/short-term-loans\/\">have to budget carefully for<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you really think about it, fixing up a roof in the rain seems a little silly, doesn\u2019t it? But many people end up having that predicament on their hands because they wait until the colder, wetter months to get work done.
